Due to the ongoing health emergency surrounding Covid-19 we are still shipping samples but have reduced shipments to one dispatch per week to reduce risks to staff and delivery drivers. We are asking everyone to consider if they require samples at this time. Please write if non-urgent in the Delivery notes with your order and we will dispatch the samples when the situation improves. If you want to discuss your project please feel free to contact us using our contact form

At Alusid we source unwanted manufacturing materials that others discard. We take those materials and put them through an ingenious, low-impact process to give them a new lease of life. The result is a new kind of material, combining glass and porcelain, to create solid surfaces and tiles with individual character and low environmental impact.

Never less than 98% recycled materials.

For architects and designers

Considering the environment at every part of our manufacturing process, we transform the waste materials that others discard into beautiful new products.

Setting out to explore ways in which waste and low-value materials destined for landfill could be repurposed into beautiful and versatile surface materials, Professor David Binns and Dr Alasdair Bremner developed Silicastone – an innovative and aesthetically versatile architectural surface material made from glass, ceramics and mineral waste.
